The Philadelphia Sculling Club was formed in 2010 to provide a summer rowing program for high school boys that focuses exclusively on sculling in an intense, development-oriented environment. The program is based out of the Hines Rowing Center on the Schuylkill River and seeks to draw from the Philadelphia region as well as across the nation.
The Junior Sculling Development camp focuses on racing and preparation for racing. While technical improvements are a large part of that process, athletes are expected to have a certain level of proficiency before being accepted. Summer provides an opportunity to focus intensely on rowing and getting faster; each race is part of a process, rather than a final goal.
